― My background
I’m Sreedhar Puchhala, a Senior CAE Engineer with 20+ years of expertise in advanced simulation and material development. After a successful career in Germany’s automotive sector, I returned to India in 2021 to promote impactful Indo-German collaborations.
In India, I’ve been actively researching cost-effective material characterization solutions, and successfully initiated collaboration with IIT Hyderabad & BorgWarner. Together, we’ve delivered high-quality tests at significantly reduced costs and launched R&D projects for future products of BorgWarner with a strong focus on affordability.
Passionate about innovation, CAE simulations and advanced material development, I aim to bridge global expertise and drive advancements in engineering. Let’s collaborate to shape a smarter, cost-effective future.

Senior Simulation Engineer
BorgWarner Kibo, Germany / May 2011 - Dec 2021
- As senior CAE Analyst, I developed TMF simulation workflow to optimize Turbine Housing geometry & to use optimal materials, led to reducing number of hardware tests and achieving significant cost and time savings.
- I rolled out the simulation workflow to all BorgWarner locations, training users to standardize results and ensure consistency across global teams.
- I developed an innovative material alloy optimisation tool to identify new alloys that meet challenging application requirements and cost savings, by advancing material development.

Material Data and Simulation Engineer
BorgWarner Chennai, India / Jan 2022 - Present
- I established collaboration with IIT Hyderabad by evaluating and validating material testing labs in India, enhancing cost saving strategies for material characterization.
- I led R&D initiatives at IIT Hyderabad for future BorgWarner products, delivering 3–4x cost savings and advancing strategic product & new material development.
RWTH Aachen University, Germany
Master’s degree, Simulation Techniques in Mechanical Engineering / 2003 - 2006
“If a problem looks too hard, I think about all the times I messed up and learned from it. It’s not about being smart; it’s about not giving up. I will keep trying to find the answer.”

― Dr. ing. Claus oberste brandenburg
Managing Director eCon Engineering Germany GmbH, Alzey, germany
I had the pleasure of working with Sreedhar for over eight years, during which he demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and a strong sense of responsibility. He independently developed and successfully implemented two key tools—the Compressor Wheel LCF Calculation Tool and the Turbine Housing TMF Workflow—both of which were rolled out globally across BorgWarner.
Sreedhar not only mastered the complex technical challenges but also ensured smooth integration into our systems while training teams worldwide. He is highly self-driven, solution-oriented, and works with great precision. His contributions have significantly improved our (KIBO Unit) global processes.

Working with Sreedhar for about six years was a great experience. His deep understanding of structural mechanics and material thermodynamics made a real impact on our global material development efforts at BorgWarner.
He developed a powerful tool for designing new material alloys tailored to high-temperature and fatigue-resistant applications. His ability to connect material properties with structural requirements was key to our success in optimizing turbine housing materials. Together, we developed and validated a cost-effective, high-performance material in record time, significantly reducing casting trials. His expertise and problem-solving mindset brought real value to our projects.
